Q: What made VU stand out to you when choosing a college?
“The Broadcast Department is one of the best in Indiana, with many of its graduates getting career offers immediately following completion. I actually did get an offer in Rockford, Illinois, but decided to continue my pursuit of successfully completing my 4-year degree.”
Q: Why did you choose to study Broadcasting?
“I knew at a young age that I wanted to be in that field under the influence of Jane Pauley.”
Q: What were some of your key experiences or highlights as a VU student?
“My leadership development is what I remember the most.”
Q: Who and what had the most significant impact on your VU experience?
“Kimberly Ewing and the Multicultural Department had a major impact on me.”
Q: How did VU prepare you for your career?
“The hands-on experience was vital to my success. Knowing that I was working with the most updated equipment that most commercial stations had yet to be exposed helped to set me apart.”
Q: What advice would you give current and prospective VU students or those considering enrolling?
“Take advantage of every exposure that VU will lend to you.”
Q: Looking back, what are you most grateful for from your time at VU?
“How much it really shaped the person I am yet today. My time at VU were my most informative years.”
Q: Why is VU special to you?
“Although I hold a 4-year degree from Butler University, I recognize that I wouldn’t have been ready for it and the success since if not for my time at VU.”
Q: Please describe your positive experiences with VU clubs and organizations.
“My interaction with my peers in formulating student government and policy gave me the political junkie bug that I still have to this day, having been involved in various campaigns, serving in appointed roles, and currently working with advocate organizations as clients.”
