What can I expect during my time at VU?
- The Broadcasting, A.S. Transfer Degree at Vincennes University is a two-year program that provides students with specific skills needed for effective performance, editing, and producing in the broadcasting industry.
- Gain practical on-air experience in our university-owned radio and television stations.

What can I do with this degree?
This degree track is designed for students who plan to continue their education at four-year institutions offering degrees in Communication/Broadcasting. Graduates of the A.S. program will also be prepared for entry-level positions in broadcasting, including news writing and producing for on-air and digital media. Among many others, some of the more common careers in this field include:
- Audio & Video Editor—Prepare clips for public consumption in post-production.
- News Producer—Collaborate with the director to select content for broadcast, design shows, and set filming schedules
- News Editor—Compose the written elements of a broadcast to sustain the audience’s attention.
- Broadcast Journalist—Attend press conferences, rank news stories, and ask questions to create news stories.
- Reporter—Gather information, facts, and statistics to report on news stories.
- News anchor or On-air talent—Present stories live; serve as the face of a program.
- Writer & Content Creator—Develop engaging stories for particular audiences.
