VU Face Mask Policy
Updated May 2022
Face masks are optional inside VU facilities at all campuses and sites. This applies to VU locations only. Please defer to policies at partner locations
which may still require masking or other Covid safety protocols. Mask wearing and
and social distancing will continue to be encouraged in some instances, as outlined
by the CDC’s latest guidance, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html
Please note the following:
- Individuals may choose to continue wearing a mask for a variety of personal or health
reasons. Please be considerate.
- The University Primary Care Clinic may continue to enforce the mask mandate for visitors
and staff. Please look for signage to indicate if that requirement is in effect before
entering the clinic.
- VU encourages all eligible students, faculty, and staff to become fully vaccinated
and boosted, according to CDC and FDA guidance.
VU will continue to review its masking policy and will be prepared to make future
modifications based on changing local conditions, along with guidelines and recommendations
from the CDC, Indiana Department of Health, and relevant county health departments.
Individuals should continue to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, practice good
hand hygiene and social distancing, wherever possible. VU employees and students who
exhibit symptoms or have been in contact with someone with a known case of COVID-19
should stay home and self-isolate. Individuals who have a confirmed case of COVID-19
or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 should also complete the VU
COVID reporting form on MyVU before awaiting instructions from a VU contact tracer.
VU is committed to protecting the health and safety of the VU community and appreciates
everyone’s efforts to keep all VU stakeholders safe as we return to campus.
