TESTING
COVID testing will still remain part of the University Primary Care Center (UPCC)
point-of-care testing for Vincennes University students, employees and insured family
members.
Patients and students that are exhibiting symptoms will be triaged by phone and COVID
testing will be set up after 24 hr. of symptoms.
If a COVID test is negative, the test can be repeated in 48hr. to further evaluate
the illness.
CONFIRMED POSITIVE – CDC GUIDELINES
For everyone, regardless of vaccine status
- Mild- Moderate symptoms : Isolate for 5 days, plus 5 days of precautions: masking
and social distancing.
- Moderate-Severe symptoms (difficulty breathing, hospitalization or weakened immune
system): Isolate 10 days and consult your healthcare provider.
- Positive individuals should notify any primary contacts (those being in close proximity
<6ft. for at least 15 minutes- starting 24 hours before emerging symptoms).
If you are unsure if your symptoms are moderate or severe or if you have a weakened
immune system, talk to your healthcare provider for further guidance.
After you have ended isolation, if your COVID-19 symptoms recur or worsen, restart
your isolation at day 0 and talk to your healthcare provider.
PRIMARY CONTACT
For everyone, regardless of vaccine status
- Implement precautions of monitoring, masking and social distancing.
- Test on day 5 of exposure or if symptoms develop.
STUDENT POSITIVES
- Students will be responsible for notifying professors and informing primary contacts.
EMPLOYEE POSITIVES
- Employees will be responsible for notifying their supervisor and informing primary
contacts.
