Who needs to participate in Trailblazer Kickoff Jasper

What is Trailblazer Kickoff Jasper?

Trailblazer Kickoff introduces students to the Jasper campus and the services we offer. There are two components to our program: reviewing the Trailblazer Tips and attending the in-person orientation.

You will need to use your VU-X login credentials. You must review this page before attending Trailblazer Kickoff.

How do I register for classes?

We will reach out to you to schedule an appointment to register for your first semester classes.

What is the Accuplacer Exam?

The Accuplacer exam is a series of tests that evaluate a student's preparedness for college-level courses. Students who have transfer credit in college level English and math, or a qualifying high school GPA, or sufficient SAT or ACT scores, may be exempt from taking Accuplacer.

NOTE: A photo ID is required for testing (Driver’s license, State ID card). Testing is administered in the Administration Building.

What if I have a Diverse Ability/Disability that requires Academic Accommodations?

What if I have Transfer Credit?

If you have transfer credit, we must have an official transcript before you enroll in classes to determine appropriate course placement. Official transcripts must be sent to VU directly from the issuing college/s where the credit was earned.

How do I meet College Readiness Requirements?

All students are required to demonstrate college readiness in order to register for classes.

VU ID

New students that recently received a BlazerOne card do NOT need to activate the card. It can still be used as a VU ID without being activated. The BlazerOne card will no longer be used for student refunds. Please visit the Refunds and Fastpass page for more information on the new student refund process and how to enroll.

Students that don’t have a BlazerOne card will still need to get their picture taken for their new ID. ONLY students taking courses on the Vincennes and Jasper campuses will need to submit a photo for their VU ID. To submit the online photo, login to your VUX account (Google Chrome is the preferred browser). Go to the “Upload Student ID Photo” card and click on the picture. Please read the guidelines carefully and follow the directions to submit your photo.
