VINCENNES, Ind. - A live stage production of “The Rocky Horror Show” will be presented for four performances beginning Oct. 25 at Vincennes University’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. The show is being presented by the VU Theatre program and will feature VU students and area community members.

The musical, by Richard O’Brien, was adapted into the 1975 film, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Showtime is 7 p.m. (EDT) for performances on Oct. 25, 26, and 27. A late show is also available at 10 p.m. on Oct. 26. Tickets are on sale now and cost $12 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for non-VU students. Tickets can be purchased at the Skelton Center, online at vinu.edu/red-skelton, or by phone at 812-888-4039.

The cast of “The Rocky Horror Show” features Marquese Harrell (Chicago) as Dr. Frank-N-Furter; Noah Wright (Greenwood) as Brad Majors; Evelyn Crowley (Vincennes) as Janet Weiss; Chris Jones (Plainfield) as Rocky; Deakin Axtell (Cayuga) as Riff Raff; Lydia Hancock (Westphalia) as Columbia; Sydney Armstrong (New Palestine) as Magenta; Kyle Gregory (Washington) as Eddie; Jay McFarland (McCordsville) as Dr. Everett Scott; Mariah Bridgewater (Loogootee) as The Usherette and a Phantom; Jake Sexton (Bloomington), Hannah Mohr (Thorntown), Kristen Heshelman (Elnora), Armani Smith (Merrillville), Nino Long (Clarksville), and Peyton Jones (Greencastle) as Narrators; and Isaiah Hatcher (Avon) and Garret Barrasas (Hobart) as Phantoms. Vincennes resident Taletha Provines also appears as a Phantom.

ABOUT THE SHOW (rated PG-13)

“The Rocky Horror Show,” written by Richard O’Brien, is a humorous tribute to the science fiction genre and horror B movies of the late 1940s to early 1970s. The musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple (Brad Majors and Janet Weiss) getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Frank-N-Furter, who is about to unveil his new creation - a sort of Frankenstein-style monster in the form of an artificially made, fully grown, physically perfect muscle man named Rocky. At the time of its release, it pushed boundaries and has become a cultural icon which promotes empowerment of self-creation and all sexual orientations.
