December 3, 2018 / VU Mid-Year Commencement is Saturday

VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University’s Mid-Year Commencement exercises will be Dec. 8, 11 a.m. (EST), at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. The ceremony will be streamed live at www.WVUT.org.

Dr. Laura Treanor, provost and vice president of Instructional Services, will preside and Chad Beaman, president of the Faculty Senate, will convene the ceremony. VU President Chuck Johnson will address the graduates. Presenting the diplomas will be College Deans Anna Miller, College of Business and Public Service; Jana Vieck, College of Health Sciences and Human Performance; Ty Freed, College of Technology; Curt Coffman, College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics; and Dr. Cynthia Ragle, Social Science, Performing Arts, and Communication.

Taja Davidson, assistant provost of Student Affairs and dean of students, will provide the welcome and Savannah Linenburg, interim director of Alumni, will induct the graduates into the Alumni Association. Presenting Academic Honors will be Joan Puckett, dean of the College of Humanities. Rick Cox, assistant director of Student Activities, will present the Blue and Gold Cord Awards.

Bryce Mattox, president of the Student Government Association, will present the opening and closing statements and Miss VU 2018 Evelyn Crowley will lead the singing of the National Anthem and the VU Alma Mater. The VU Campus Police Cadet Honor Guard will present and retire the Colors.
