VINCENNES, Ind. - The Terre Haute Flute Choir will present a guest concert on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. EDT in the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center Theatre, 20 W. Red Skelton Blvd. The concert is free and the public is invited to attend. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Established in 2017, the Terre Haute Flute Choir consists of 12 professional flutists from Central and Southern Indiana. Under the direction of Dr. Joyce Wilson, the ensemble rehearses weekly in Terre Haute, and has performed recitals at the Swope Art Museum, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Indiana State University, the Vigo County Historical Society, and Westminster Village. The ensemble will perform a lively concert of original and transcribed works. Several area high school flute students, along with Vincennes University flute students, have been invited to join Terre Haute Flute Choir members for one of the selections.
Several local flutists are members of the flute choir. They include Stephanie O’Brian,
Director of Bands at Barr-Reeve Middle-High School; Amy Hamm, Director of Bands at
Loogootee Junior-Senior High School; Betsy Graves, retired Loogootee Junior-Senior
