Tiffany and Clard Davidson stirred up recipes for success at VU

Proud Vincennes University Alumni Clard Davidson and Tiffany Davidson have turned their shared love for food into a business as chefs and owners of Chef’s Table Catering in Bloomington, Indiana.

Their culinary journey began at VU, where they earned Culinary Arts degrees in 2015, completed Intro to Food Service certificates in 2009, and built the foundation for their success. They credit the VU Culinary Arts faculty for shaping their passion and honing their skills through hands-on experiences and industry events. Meeting at VU sparked their love for culinary arts and for each other.

In this Q&A Alumni Spotlight, Tiffany and Clard discuss their mentorship experiences and the value of building connections with students in the same major.

Q: Why did you choose VU for your education?

Tiffany and Clard – “We heard that VU had a wonderful Culinary Arts program and housing.”

Q: Describe your VU experience.

Clard - “One of the key experiences is being around people with the same goals and dreams, also being able to have some wonderful teachers, life Chef Jeff Hume, to show and help guide me down a path of success.”

Q: How did VU prepare you for your career?

Tiffany - “It gave me a solid foundation to stand on and the basics to navigate through the beginning of my career.”

Q: What advice would you give to current and prospective students?

Tiffany - “Take everything in and understand that the knowledge you gain will help you through your journey.”

Q: Looking back, what are you most grateful for during your time at VU?

Tiffany - “Meeting my spouse and the faculty and staff that helped us through our journey.”

Q: Why is VU a special place?

Tiffany - “I met lifetime friends, mentors, and my spouse.”

Q: What clubs and organizations did you participate in at VU?

Tiffany - “Vincennes Culinary Club, participating in catering events and going to chef conventions.”
