VINCENNES, Ind. – Interim Dean of the Vincennes University College of Health Sciences and Human Performance, Dr. Jason King, has been named President of the Indiana State Board of Nursing.

This prominent role puts a VU leader at the helm of a board responsible for licensing and regulating nurses as well as overseeing education standards. It also confirms King's expertise in healthcare education and his dedication to the nursing workforce.

VU students and industry partners benefit directly from having a leader of this caliber guiding the University’s Health Sciences and Human Performance programs.

VU Interim Provost Jaci Lederman said, “Dr. King’s leadership on the State Board highlights the professional rigor VU students experience daily. It is an honor to have a VU faculty member helping lead an extremely important body overseeing nursing regulation and education at the state level."

King takes great pride in advocating for the nursing field.

King said, "I am grateful for this opportunity to serve the nursing profession in a broader capacity. It is a privilege to serve the state in this way, and I am committed to working with my colleagues to strengthen the nursing workforce for the benefit of all Hoosiers."

He previously served on the board as its vice president.
