About Us

Who We Are

Generations is the Area 13 Agency on Aging and also serves as our service area’s Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). We coordinate and offer services that help older adults and individuals with disabilities remain in their homes, if that is their preference. By providing a range of options that allow older adults to choose the home and community-based services and living arrangements that suit them best, we make it possible for older adults to “age in place” in their homes and communities. Generations is part of Vincennes University’s Community Service Division.

Our Mission

To provide older adults, individuals with disabilities and caregivers options for a better quality of life.

Where to begin

Are you, a loved one or someone you know in need of assistance to remain safely in your own home? To age in place where YOU prefer? Generations is here to help! Whether you are in need of in-home services, or just looking to connect with others, we can provide you with the information that you need, when you need it.

STEP 1: Call Generations. Our Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) staff will speak with you about your current needs and determine if an in-home visit is appropriate. If a home visit is determined to be necessary, a trained Options Counselor will contact you to schedule an in-home assessment.

STEP 2: An Options Counselor will complete the in-home assessment that includes questions about your or your loved one’s current needs. This assessment will determine eligibility for in-home services, and once eligibility is determined, your Options Counselor will work with you to develop a plan of care tailored to your specific needs. This plan will be submitted to the State for approval, and once approved, services may begin. Your Options Counselor will follow up with you 30 days after your services start.

STEP 3: Once services have been approved, you or your loved one will be transferred to an ongoing Case Manager who will monitor your services and adjust them as needed on an ongoing basis. Case Managers will visit your home every 90 days to speak with you directly about how your services are going.
