Biography:
Professor Shannon Hudson has been the Chair of the Legal Studies Department at Vincennes
University since Fall 2019. She has been a practicing attorney licensed in Illinois
since November 2004 and in Indiana since February 2005. Professor Hudson has practiced
in a variety of legal areas, including civil practice, criminal defense, real estate,
coal and oil, probate, and corporate healthcare law. Additionally, she is a court-appointed
family law mediator in Illinois. Before arriving at Vincennes University, Professor
Hudson was an adjunct instructor at the University of Southern Indiana and at Wabash
Valley College where she helped develop the Paralegal Program.
Professor Hudson is passionate about the justice system and encouraging students toward
careers in the legal field. As she grows the Legal Studies Program at VU, Professor
Hudson hopes to inspire a new generation of attorneys and paralegals who can help
serve and bring legal fairness to their communities.
