Teaching & Work Experience

• Year Started Teaching Nursing: 2021 (at Vincennes University)

Seven years experience as a staff nurse at Daviess Community Hospital where he was also named the 2021 Inpatient Nurse of the Year. This experience includes inpatient rehabilitation, medical/surgical, critical care, emergency and house supervision. Dr. Sama continues to work at the bedside on an "as needed" basis.

Dr. Sama has just started his teaching career. However, as nurses, we are always providing education to patients and their families. Professor Sama teaches in the PN and ASN programs. He is also the Program Director of the ASN program at the VU Jasper campus. Dr. Sama believes that building exceptional nurses begins with education. He is excited to prepare students to provide safe and effective care. Dr. Sama encourages students to study hard, do good, and then the good life will follow.
