maintenance facilities

Labs and facilities for aviation maintenance majors at Vincennes University Aviation Technology Center are superb with updated equipment and knowedgable professors and instructors.

Labs include: Airframe systems, composites lab, computer lab, electric lab, engine overhaul lab, hydraulics lab, physics lab, powerplant lab, sheetmetal lab, tool room, training aids, and welding lab.

airframe electricity lab

An engineering laboratory classroom features workbenches, fixed equipment, and storage. The room is well-lit with multiple overhead fluorescent lights. There are several workbenches with wooden tops. Vertical poles run from floor to ceiling and are seemingly anchored mid-workbench. The back and side walls are lined with benches holding more complex equipment, alongside blackboards.

composites lab

A well-lit composites laboratory featuring several workstations and specialized equipment for materials testing and fabrication. In the foreground, a large table holds rolls of composite fabrics and associated tools, suggesting ongoing or recently completed work. Additional work tables are arranged throughout the room, with testing machinery and larger equipment pieces visible in the background.

electric lab

A brightly lit electronics lab classroom. The room is divided into two sections: student desks with blue chairs arranged in rows for lectures, and individual workstations with electronic equipment and swivel chairs along the walls. There is a whiteboard, an exit door, and safety equipment visible, against the upper right wall. The classroom is clean and well-organized.

engine overhaul lab

A bright, well-lit mechanical engineering lab features multiple workstations with engines, various tools, and equipment. Some engines are aqua; others are industrial green. Blue workbenches and rolling carts are visible. Overhead fluorescent lights illuminate the space, which is organized and functional with an industrial aesthetic.

flight simulation lab

An interior view of a flight simulator training room, featuring two simulators. The simulators are white with blue trim and the logos of the aviation training center. The room has a blue and green patterned carpet, and is well-lit with drop ceiling lights. Yellow safety lines denote the operational areas of the simulators.

propeller lab

A workshop scene featuring aircraft propeller maintenance or repair. Several propellers are mounted on stands, with various tools and worktables scattered throughout the space. The propellers are silver and some have yellow tips. The room is brightly lit with fluorescent lights, and the overall atmosphere suggests a practical, hands-on learning or repair environment.

media center

A well-lit library reading room features rows of bookshelves lining the walls, filled with books and magazines. Several square tables with blue chairs are arranged across a blue patterned carpet. In the background are some blue sofas in a lounge area. The room is brightly illuminated by recessed ceiling lights.

sheetmetal lab

A metalworking classroom features various tools and equipment on workbenches. The equipment includes a shear press, a punch press, and a cut-off saw. The space is well-lit with industrial lighting.

turbine engine lab

An aviation maintenance training lab features several light wood workbenches with various aircraft engine components positioned on top. Some components are mounted on yellow stands. A full engine is in the center, with a schematic hung on the wall behind it. Fluorescent lights illuminate the room in rows.

welding lab

Interior view of a metalworking or welding lab. In the foreground, a metal worktable features a red chop saw and a grey grinding wheel. Additional worktables with stools line the back of the room beneath overhead ventilation hoods and mounted welding equipment. Dark marks are on the wall from previous welding work.

maintenance training center

An aerial view captures an active airfield on a bright day. A collection of several parked airplanes, including a yellow and blue helicopter, sits atop the paved tarmac in the foreground. Beyond the aircraft, multiple large, light-colored hangars stand against the backdrop of a partly cloudy blue sky. Fencing and landscaping outline the perimeter of the airfield.
